چکیده
Water pollution is a serious environmental problem caused by activities. A group of pollutants that are not controlled in the environment but cause harmful effects on ecosystem known as emerging pollutants. One these groups detected water bodies pharmaceutical compounds. main problems compounds pollutant bacterial resistance. family antibiotics frequently used. Due to their poor absorption they released into through feces and urine active ingredients. Wastewater treatment consists three stages: primary, secondary, tertiary treatment. Tertiary employs methods such reverse osmosis, oxidation-reduction, ultraviolet irradiation, adsorption. Adsorption used because it simple effective. For choice an effective adsorbent material, surface area, porosity, adsorption capacity, mechanical stability, factors profitability, regeneration, sustainability, selectivity considered. In present review, adsorbents commonly contaminated with were analyzed. The have been classified general way metallic materials, polymers, ceramics, composites, materials based biomass.

Adsorbent materials from paper industry waste materials and their use in Cu(II) removal from water.
This paper deals with the removal of Cu(2+) from water using adsorbent materials prepared from paper industry waste materials (one de-inking paper sludge and other sludge from virgin pulp mill). Experimental results showed that de-inking paper sludge leads to mesoporous materials (V(mic)/V(T)=0.13 and 0.14), whereas the sludge from virgin pulp mill produces high microporous adsorbents (V(mic)/V...
متن کاملApplication of Biological Adsorbent Materials for Removal of Harmful Inorganic Contaminants from Aqueous Media – An Overview
Water is one of the most vital and indispensable commodities of our everyday life. Progression of this natural resource plays a crucial role in socio-economic scenario. With only 1% available potable component, it is by and large adequate to meet all the demands of mankind. However its quality and dissemination over different regions of the world is uneven and causes problems of scarcity and ap...
متن کاملEvaluation the efficiency of magnetic-metallic chitosan nanocomposite adsorbent in the removal of tetracycline antibiotic from aqueous solutions
Background and Objective: Antibiotics are considered due to health and environmental problems and therefore they counted as a major threat to human health. The aim of this study was to determine the absorption efficiency of magnetic-chitosan nanocomposite in the removal of antibiotic tetracycline from aqueous solutions. Materials and Method: In this study, the experiments were performed by spec...
متن کاملDewatered alum sludge: a potential adsorbent for phosphorus removal.
Alum sludge refers to the by-product from the processing of drinking water in water treatment works. In this study, groups of batch experiments were designed to identify the characteristics of dewatered alum sludge for phosphorus adsorption. Air-dried alum sludge (moisture content 10.2%), which was collected from a water treatment works in Dublin, was subjected to artificial P-rich wastewater a...
متن کاملNanocrystalline Akaganeite as Adsorbent for Surfactant Removal from Aqueous Solutions
The present study presents the effective use of nanocrystalline akaganeite for the adsorption of an anionic (SDS), a cationic (CTAB), and a nonionic (tween80) surfactant from wastewater. Equilibrium experiments, as well as thermodynamic analysis, were performed. The maximum SDS adsorption occurs at the lowest pH value (5), the opposite is observed for CTAB (pH = 11), while for tween80, the chan...
